Marketing and Creative Services supports the University’s sustainability initiative, Mission Green. In an effort to do our part, we offer a variety of suggestions on our website related to eco-friendly printing practices.

Below are just a few suggestions:

Choose responsible vendors
Printing vendors that are concerned about their sustainability efforts can opt to be FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certified. FSC certification ensures that the entire supply chain of paper and printing is managed in ways that protect the environment and the habitats affected by the production of paper.

Recycled paper is not the only option
In addition to choosing recycled paper for print projects there are some other options:

• Use chlorine-free paper
• Choose the lightest weight paper that will fit the needs of the project
• Opt for a smaller size sheets
• Ask for soy- or water-based inks
• Print on both sides of the sheet whenever possible
